FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

I've designed this page to help small and mid-size business owners understand how I bridge the gap between complex technology and real-world business results.

Your Technology Partner

What exactly does T2C do for my business?+
T2C is your dedicated technology partner. Most "Main Street" businesses don't need a full-time, $200k+ tech executive on payroll, but they do need someone with the judgment to decide what to build, what to buy, and what to automate - and then actually build it. That's what I do, without the full-time overhead.
How is this different from hiring a consultant or an agency?+
Unlike consultants who just hand over a report and disappear, or agencies that keep you at arm's length with hourly billing, T2C is embedded in your business. I don't just strategize; I implement. When something needs to be built, I build it. I am your partner, not just a vendor.
Is T2C a good fit for my small business?+
I specialize in "Main Street" businesses - trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical), real estate, outdoor and recreation, professional services (CPAs, attorneys), healthcare, and construction. If you're wearing the "technology hat" yourself and it's costing you time, or if your systems don't talk to each other, I can help.

The ClearPath AI Process

What is the ClearPath AI process?+
ClearPath AI is my proprietary methodology for turning technology from a headache into a competitive advantage. It's a three-stage, results-driven framework: ClearPath Map (I map your entire operation to find every bottleneck and opportunity), ClearPath Build (I take the highest-ROI opportunity and build it end-to-end), and ClearPath Run (the ongoing partnership for strategy, implementation, and keeping your systems running as you grow).
Does AI actually apply to a business like mine?+
Yes. Many small businesses think AI is only for big tech, but the tools that used to require an enterprise budget are now within reach for any small business. Whether it's an AI worker answering your phones 24/7 so you never miss a lead, or automating your invoicing so you get paid faster, AI can be a pragmatic tool for any industry.

AI Workers & Automation

What is an "AI Worker"?+
An AI Worker is a specialized automation tool designed to handle specific, repetitive tasks. A common example I deploy is an AI Answering Service. It ensures every call is answered, leads are captured, and information is routed to the right person - all without a human receptionist or an expensive software subscription.
How much time can automation really save me?+
In my Yardigans case study, I took a business that spent 60–70% of its time chasing work and reduced that admin time to nearly zero. The entire summer's admin was handled in about five days. My goal is to make your business run itself so you can focus on the actual work.

Implementation & Logistics

Do I need to be tech-savvy to work with T2C?+
Not at all. I speak plain language, not jargon. My goal is Technology to Clarity. You run the business; I make the technology work for you.
Are you local to Wisconsin, or can you work remotely?+
I'm based in Wisconsin and love working with local clients on-site. Every engagement is also fully remote-capable, so I can work with you wherever you are.
How do we get started?+
The best way to start is with a ClearPath Map - a focused working session and a Tim-reviewed roadmap of where AI and better systems will make the biggest difference for your bottom line. It credits in full toward your first build. Fill out a short intake form and I'll get you on Tim's calendar.

AI Strategy & Business Fit

What does an ongoing technology partner actually do for a small business?+
A technology partner makes the technology decisions so you don't have to. For most Main Street businesses, that means identifying which systems are worth investing in, building the ones that create the most leverage, and making sure your team can actually use them. It's not advisory work - I implement. You get 20 years of engineering and systems experience focused on your operation, without the full-time executive price tag.
How much does AI automation cost for a small business?+
It depends on what you're building, but most T2C engagements start with a ClearPath Map - a fixed-scope diagnostic that gives you a prioritized action plan and a clear ROI picture before any implementation begins. From there, Build projects are scoped and priced individually. You know what you're getting before you commit. There are no retainer traps or open-ended hourly billing.
What's the difference between AI consulting and AI implementation?+
Most AI consultants hand you a report. T2C builds the thing. The ClearPath process moves through Map (diagnosis), Build (implementation), and Run (ongoing partnership) - every stage is designed to produce a working system, not a slide deck. If I recommend it, I build it.
Is AI automation right for a manufacturing or trades business?+
Yes - and these are two of the verticals where it creates the fastest ROI. The highest-leverage problems in manufacturing and trades are almost always operational: missed follow-ups, manual scheduling, jobs that stall after the estimate, admin that eats the owner's day. These are exactly the problems automated systems solve. You don't need to understand the technology - you need the problem fixed.
What is the ClearPath AI process, and how is it different from other consulting frameworks?+
ClearPath AI is T2C's proprietary methodology - three stages: Map, Build, Run. What makes it different: it starts with understanding your business before recommending any technology, it's designed for Main Street businesses (not enterprise), and every engagement ends with a working system your team can operate. Most frameworks stop at the recommendation. ClearPath doesn't stop until the system runs.

Security & Trust

Can I trust the advice I get?+
With 20 years of experience in software engineering and systems architecture, Tim Gemoll brings a pragmatic, no-fluff approach to every engagement. I tell you the truth about what you actually need, even if that means telling you not to buy an expensive piece of software.
How do you handle my business data?+
Security is a core part of my systems architecture. Whether I am integrating existing tools or building custom automations, I ensure your data is handled with industry-standard security practices to keep your business and your customers safe.
