Most businesses talk about AI. We decided to run it.
Over the past few weeks, T2C has been quietly deploying something a little different: an AI chief of staff we call David. Not a chatbot. Not an automation script. A fully operational AI agent that handles real business work — reading email, managing the books, coordinating outreach, and keeping the operation moving while Tim focuses on clients.
What David Actually Does
David runs on OpenClaw, an open-source AI gateway that gives agents persistent memory, tool access, and real integrations. Here's what's live today:
- Inbox triage — David reads and routes email at david@t2coders.com. Receipts go to the bookkeeper. Client messages get flagged. Noise gets cleared.
- Bookkeeping — Every expense and invoice is logged to our book keeping system by Ruth, David's bookkeeper sub-agent. Clean records, automatically.
- Lead management — David coordinates with Paul (T2C's marketing agent) to keep the outreach pipeline moving. Leads get researched, emails get drafted, nothing falls through the cracks.
- Research — David keeps John, T2C's research agent, busy doing deep-dive analysis and background intelligence on demand — clients, markets, industries. David briefs him; John digs.
- Memory — David remembers context across sessions. Decisions made last week are accessible today. No re-explaining, no re-briefing.
Why We Built This Internally First
The honest answer: we wouldn't sell something we hadn't lived with ourselves.
T2C's whole pitch is that AI systems can run real business operations — not just answer questions, but actually do work. David is proof that pitch is real. Every friction point we hit building him becomes a lesson we carry into client engagements.
When a client asks "how do you know this will work for us?" — the answer is: because it's running our business right now.
What This Means for SMBs
Most small businesses assume AI is for big companies with big IT budgets. David was built on tools that are either open-source or under $50/month. The leverage isn't in the price tag — it's in how you use it.
If you're running a business under $5M and spending more than 10 hours a week on coordination, routing, and busywork, you're leaving real capacity on the table. That's the gap T2C is built to close.
